Illustration for article titled Dealership Employee Arrested for Stealing Repair Payments

I always feel a little bit guilty using the "stealership" tag because I know we have some readers who are legit Jalops who also happen to sell cars. I have had plenty of conversations with some of them, and I truly believe they do their best to sell cars the right way. I don't like to paint with broad strokes and lump all dealership workers in with the stereotype. However, for this particular story the tag is warranted.

From the MidHudsonNews-

MIDDLETOWN – State Police have arrested a Bayonne, New Jersey man on charges that while working as a parts and service representative at a Middletown area car dealership, he took cash payments from customers for auto repairs and stole the money. It was also charged that Christopher Palumbo, 37, would then release the vehicles back to the customers without any repairs having been completed.

On Friday, June 6, troopers tracked Palumbo by Sullivan County where he was arrested on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records.

Palumbo was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
